Born in Cherbourg, the Techno Pro entity has made its mark and built a solid reputation in the Industry sector. Thirty years after its creation, the balance sheet of activity is still as convincing as ever.
Created in May 1990, Techno Pro (Technology and Production) is an industrial services company that provides subcontracting services to various clients in the energy and nuclear sectors. When it was created, Techno Pro was specialized in 3 areas of activity: technical assistance, nuclear maintenance and boilermaking control.
« I joined Techno Pro in September 1994 as a Business Manager, said Yannick Vergez, CEO of Groupe FIVA. My objective was clear: I had to develop the company’s activities. To do so, I had to anticipate the end of the major nuclear projects and move towards higher added value services. »
Yannick Vergez very quickly took over the management of the company and decided, three years after his arrival, to give a new direction to the company. Techno Pro then specialized in project management, methods and document logistics.
Once this reorientation was completed, the company set out to win new clients and contracts, particularly in the shipbuilding sector (civil and military).
« In 1999, we made a large commercial investment in the Naval sector, says Yannick Vergez. Techno Pro then started working for Naval Group, CMN and Chantiers de l’Atlantique offering project and methods management services. Our first services, for Naval Group, were carried out in the framework of the AGOSTA 90B program for Pakistan then we worked on the SNLE/NG, Vigilant and Terrible programs. Following this, we also worked for Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the Queen Mary II and for CMN within the framework of the Baynunah program. »
The company then continued its development towards major international projects, notably in Spain with the creation, in 2001, of Techno Pro Hispania.
« This opportunity in Spain was the perfect continuation of our desire to develop our activities internationally and to continue our collaboration with Naval Group, explains Yannick Vergez. We had the opportunity to work on joint projects between Naval Group and Navantia, notably for the Scorpen Chile program, which encouraged the transfer of knowledge and thus the enrichment of our employees’ know-how. »
In view of this growth, Yannick Vergez created, in 2003, the holding company ” Groupe FIVA ” which now includes Techno Pro as well as 6 other entities.
« Today, we speak on behalf of Groupe FIVA but we must not forget that everything started with Techno Pro and that it remains the historical company of the Group, concludes Yannick Vergez. Techno Pro’s reputation has been built over the years. It has been a tenacious and long-lasting work for which I have taken great pleasure and which has borne fruit. In the beginning, we were operating in a less competitive market now the market has evolved and it has hardened. In any case, the key to success remains a very good listening to the customer allied to a reactivity and an important presence in the field, which we intend to continue! »
The ambition of the entity for the years to come is obviously to perpetuate its activities in the Industry sector but also to continue its development in the Naval sector and to strengthen its presence in order to continue to accompany its customers on large scale projects.
Although the entity was not able to celebrate its 30 candles this year due to the health crisis, it intends to make up for it next year and cut down the champagne to properly water its thirty-one years of experience and know-how!
