In October, we experimented with the first virtual reality model review between Australia and France. A first successful test that opens up wide development prospects.
Serge Boniface in Australia at Cadgile’s offices – Kadego and Mickaël Le Roux in Cherbourg at the FIVA Group’s headquarters: they are miles away and yet they have been able to communicate and interact effectively with each other in the same environment!
The tool, developed by our subsidiary Kadego, allows two participants to join together in the same immersive environment and to answer, directly, any questions, point out the equipment concerned, measure coasts, etc.
Serge Boniface, General Manager of the FIVA Group, gives us his impressions of this first experience: « It’s amazing to be face-to-face in the model and to be able to exchange even though you’re physically 20,000 kilometres away. This collaborative tool opens up huge opportunities for us and our clients for multi-site research projects and will allow us to leverage our expertise. »
The various tests organised following this first experience enabled us to make the operation of our tool more reliable by hardening it against the inevitable microcuts at such a distance.
No way we’re keeping this to ourselves! The FIVA Group then decided to organize “Virtual Reality Breakfast” in France VS “Virtual Reality Afterwork” in Australia! These meetings, live, where our French and Australian customers were able to meet each other even though they were on the other side of the world, were intended to introduce them to our new tool.
Our customers have greatly appreciated this simple and effective tool. They have provided us with valuable information allowing us to make it evolve to make it even more operational and use it, in the near future, for a first model review!
