During his last year of college, when he was studying creative and digital media, Jack didn’t want to wait until he graduated to get his work experience. So he started freelancing while he waited to find a job after graduation. At least, that was his original plan.
« I started freelancing because I wanted to enter the workforce and earn a living. It was originally a temporary solution while I finished my studies, but I liked it even after I graduated. This system allowed me to acquire concrete experience because I was in direct contact with the customers for the creation of estimates, the progress of the projects and the invoicing. I had the opportunity to work on some very interesting projects such as creating promotional images for marketing campaigns or creating product labels. The most frequent request was the retouching of photos, whether it was to add a logo, copyrights or to remove an object on an image. I worked as a freelancer for about 3 years, devoting all my time to my work and to the satisfaction of my clients. I started to get tired of this lifestyle, so I started looking for a job in a company. »
That’s when Kadego, in search of a virtual reality developer, crossed paths with Jack.
« When I saw the position, I immediately said to myself that it could totally suit me so I applied without hesitation and I was lucky enough to be selected. I was immediately captivated by my assignments and by the culture of the company. I always wanted to find a job related to computer science and graphic design, which certainly comes from my love for video games and interactive media. In my opinion, virtual and augmented reality technologies represent the future of interactive media and have their place in different sectors such as engineering, design, games, medicine, education, etc. That’s why I was so excited about the position. As a VR/AR developer, my mission is to create and develop interaction methods via virtual and augmented reality hardware with a focus on the design and engineering industries. The goal of this work is to allow clients to easily examine designs with a high degree of clarity and spatial awareness. This can be used for example to do remote project reviews. This is a real time saver in the design phase and also saves money as it avoids the construction of expensive prototypes. This approach can also be used in the training process of newcomers for example. In addition to these missions I also realize visualization works for promotional images, 3D animations or training manuals. »
A job that feels like it was created especially for him and that allows him to combine his profession and his passions.
« I think I couldn’t have asked for a better assignment, it fits perfectly with what I was looking for. On top of that, we have a good team that is easy and fun to work with. »
