The 23rd edition of the 4L Trophy took place from 20 February to 1 March. For the occasion, the FIVA Group supported the “Perséides 4L”. Summary of this crazy adventure!
The 4L Trophy is a humanitarian raid through Morocco. It is the biggest sporting event dedicated to 18-28 year olds. Every year, for more than 30 years, more than 2,000 people have taken up the challenge. In Renault 4L only, the trophyists will be able to take part in an adventure of solidarity alongside the Enfants du Désert and French Red Cross associations thanks to material and financial donations.
During 10 days, participants embark on a crazy crossing from Biarritz to Marrakech through the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier, the Atlas or Ouarzazate.
Two students, Hyacinthe and Alice, took up the challenge to take part in this raid with the only objective: solidarity. That’s when the association Perséides 4L was born! It owes its name to a shower of shooting stars observable in August, the period during which they embarked on this crazy adventure, in 2018.
« The 4L Trophy represents an adventure full of emotions where our limits will be pushed back, a commitment to solidarity in an extraordinary setting, Hyacinthe confided to us before the start of the raid. For us, it is a question of taking up 3 challenges: the solidarity challenge which is at the heart of this project, the sporting challenge to push back our limits and the human challenge with the transport of more than 50kg of school, sports, medical and paramedical equipment. Participating in a concrete project rich in learning motivated us! »
On Thursday, February 20, after a hard and intense preparation, the two students lined up at the starting line at the wheel of their Perseids 4L for an adventure full of new experiences. The Perseides 4L finished 143rd (out of 1,250) on the finish line.
« It’s a more than respectable ranking, we’re proud of it, explains Hyacinthe. Especially since the ranking was clearly not our primary objective. Before the big start, we had a lot of difficulties with our 4L but we overcame them and it was really worth it! Some had to change engines overnight or even completely dismantle their car on the side of the road for welding while our 4L held up. Our best memory is the day of handing over the donations with the association Enfants du Désert. It was really a magical and very emotional moment. We are very happy to have taken up the challenge and to have lived this great adventure! »
