Let’s set off miles away from France, in Australia, to take stock of this past year and find out the ambitions of our Australian entities for 2021.
« 2020 has been a difficult year with the challenges that VIDOC-19 has inflicted on us, says Gary McRae, Managing Director of Cadgile. However, we are very proud of the way the Cadgile/Kadego team reacted and rose to the challenge. »
In February, our Australian colleagues had to set up teleworking for a period of 3 months.
« I think that our teams have managed to deal with the situation brilliantly, thanks to their enthusiasm and professionalism, said Gavan Doyle, Managing Director of Kadego. In all honesty, when we came back to the agency most of us were relieved and happy to be back at our premises. We missed the face-to-face interaction with our colleagues. »
« Despite teleworking and containment, with Gavan we have made good progress in optimizing the operation of both entities, continued Gary. Not only have we merged the operational part, but we have also worked on the commercial part so that we can present the entities in a simpler and more understandable way to customers. We started the work in 2020 and plan to continue and finalize it in 2021. »
« The Kadego and Cadgile teams are already very close together, says Gavan. This has enabled us to carry out many projects by combining the skills of Cadgile and Kadego employees. This is a winning strategy for us and for our customers because it gives us the opportunity to offer a very wide range of skills. »
In addition to this reorganization, our Australian entities did not let themselves be overwhelmed by containment and created new tools.
« During containment, to continue to meet our customers’ needs we created a virtual CAD office, explains Gary. This virtual office allowed all of our designers to network from home and deliver fast, quality results to our customers. »
« We have also developed a tool for remote visualization of Virtual Reality, continues Gavan. This tool allows customers to use Virtual Reality to review their designs without having to purchase VR equipment. »
Our Australian entities have demonstrated a great capacity to adapt and innovate in the face of this very special year 2020, to say the least. Let’s now look at the challenges that await them for 2021.
« For this new year we wish to continue our activities with our customer BHP who is receptive to the use of virtual reality which will allow us to open new doors, concludes Gary. We will also continue our technical support activities with BAE on various programs as well as our product design activities with Redarc, Minelab and PMB. Finally, we plan to expand our virtual reality business with new customers. »
